Malaysia will cut petrol prices by 5.6 percent to 2.55 ringgit ($0.763) per litre, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said in a statement on Friday. Diesel prices will be reduced by 3.1 percent to 2.50 ringgit per litre, he said.
The new rates will take effect on August 23.
